1. Explanation and classification of the name of the pique mesh:
Pique mesh: in a broad sense, it is a general term for the concave-convex style fabric of knitted loops. Because the fabric has a uniformly arranged uneven effect, the surface in contact with the skin is better than ordinary single jersey in terms of ventilation and heat dissipation, and the comfort of perspiration. In a narrow sense, it means a 4-way, one-cycle, concave-convex fabric knitted by a single jersey machine. Because the back of the fabric presents a quadrangular shape, it is often called quadrangular mesh in the industry.
There is also a common double pique mesh. Since the back of the fabric has a hexagonal shape, it is often called hexagonal mesh in the industry. Because the uneven structure on the back is similar to a football, it is also called a football mesh. This fabric is generally used as the front side of the garment in a hexagonal style on the reverse side.
It is not appropriate to use mesh to call pique mesh, because the fabric does not have obvious hollow mesh. And some literal translations that look like four-corner meshes and hexagonal meshes require further confirmation of fabric organization and style. Is it a translation error between warp knitting four-comb mesh and six-comb mesh?
Derived from the change of single-peced ground mesh or double-peced ground mesh, a variety of different styles of single-sided pique mesh structure can be developed. Including some fabrics that can be woven alternately with piques and jerseys, there are vertical stripes, horizontal stripes, squares, etc. It is also possible to combine more fabric varieties through jacquard.
Double-sided knitting machines also have some fabrics, which have a concave-convex structure, which is called double-sided pique mesh in some areas. Note that it needs to be distinguished from the double-patch mesh on single jersey knitting machines. Double singeing and double mercerizing fabrics, yarn-dyed computer large loop color strips, computer jacquard, computer hanging warp, modal/bamboo fiber/tencel/water-absorbing and sweat-wicking fiber/antibacterial fiber/organic cotton and other fibers. It is a relatively high-end variety of pique mesh fabrics.
2.The types of pique mesh:
Yarn-dyed color striped single pique mesh fabric
Stretch single pique mesh with spandex
Printed double pique mesh
Plain double pique mesh
3. Apparel Application of Pique Mesh
Yarn-dyed color striped T-shirts have been popular for many years, a T-shirt fabric suitable for both men and women. Through the composition of the fabric, the texture effect (different thickness and unevenness), the color deterioration, the change of the width of the stripes, and the design and modification of some clothing styles, a rich variety of T-shirts can be changed.
